Question:

Do two wrongs make a right?

A situation happened in my house today where someone, who is a violent person, went into one of their rages, but didnt really do half of what they usually do and didnt hurt anyone physically, but today was kind of the final straw and someone came to sort it out, but that person attacked the violent person, when the violent person was doing nothing but trying to go into their bedroom.

Doesn't this make the person who attacked them just as bad? Everyone is talking like he is some hero for getting the person to talk to someone about their anger, but I dont get it? Is that actually ok to do? It just seems really odd to me that they are trying to show not to be violent, but the did the same thing? Is that odd to you?

  1. It truly depends on the person and the mental being. I think it warranted if they were under the influence of anything. If it happens that often I'd probly react with anger too... It really depends on the situation...

  2. Sometimes....it's that final straw for someone...and something has to be done, even if that means acting just the way they act.

  3. Not at all times.

  4. you are right about one thing violence cannot control or help violence. but as you describe the first violent person may have pulled some final straw, so we are all human and at times tend to loose our patience.

so the violent person did half the damage today but there is always tommorrow, sooner he/she gets help better for all of you!

  5. Defending oneself or defending someone who can't defend themselves is one thing, but jumping on someone out of the blue is just wrong.  If the violent person is about to harm somebody, then someone jumps on him to make him stop, then it's justified -- how else can you get him to stop?  But if the violent person was already calmed down and not hurting anyone at that moment, then it's wrong to jump on him.  If he's being calm, it's time to talk or wait until a good time to talk.
