Do u actually know anyone who has gone blind because they looked at an eclipse!

I've looked at a few eclipses. I have a astigmatism but I'm not blind yet. If I keep staring at this computer screen I might be.

You don't go blind by looking at the sun.  You burn your retinas.  It's the same effect as looking at a bright light after being in the dark, you see purple or green spots where your point of focus should be, it will last for a few days.
