  1. I agree with techteacher.  It gives them access to more information, but does little to help them weed through it.

There are some great computer-based learning programs that really do help *some* kids learn faster - the multi-modal learning capabilities can get through to them in ways that workbooks can't.  However, just because something is on a computer doesn't make it better - it just makes it computerized.

  2. no...it gives them access to more info at a quicker pace but as for learning the info that is a different story...the idea that "anything" can be found using a computer has led to people learning less basic information and skipping over what we once considered important facts...the overabundance of info leads to most kids getting frustrated and just copying whatever the web site gives them, or they just print out the web page and hand that in...people used to have to know more because it was harder to find the info...

  3. No. It gives them the OPPORTUNITY to do it, however , ya gotta wanna do it. Most kids don't

  4. No, I don't.

Technology can help them find it more quickly but not learn it.

    Learning is a different process.

  5. Yes i agreed. it is true that technology helps, even information that they can never learn if they did not travel are made known to them. For example, the goggle search as help a lot of children to know about/more about the culture of other countries. like me, i was given an assignment by my English teacher to write down the alphabets of the Germans and the French and their sounds. How could i have known this being a Nigerian and knowing English as the official language. Thanks to the goggle search who unraveled it.

  6. I believe that technology allows students to learn more than ever before.  Using technology in the classroom increases student participation, which lends to an increase in overall learning.  I use technology daily, and even the students who tend to be off-task for most instruction pay close attention when a computer is sitting in front of them.
