  1. From what I just read the only "us" I see are you and David Z, the other people sound like open minded, nice folks. I've been a HD rider for 50 yrs. and I don'y consider myself as a different breed. My idea of a different breed is some one who bashes a bike that they know nothing about.

  2. Harley is a name, a status symbol, that it.

    They are inferior road machines.

  3. There are enough people in the world trying to s***w us without us doing the job for them.

I ride j*p sports bikes, I've never ridden a Harley in my life and probably never will....it's just not my personal taste, that's all.

But I've ridden a British classic that makes a Harley look positively space age  and we are seriously considering getting a sidecar fitted to the V-twin we have in the garage.

Does this make me one of them?....If being so means I'm not one of you then I certainly hope so.

Remember, all bikes are not cars so all bikes are good.

  4. Us?   Can only speak for me.  I see motorcycling as a sport and my bike as sports equipment.  I want the best equipment  for the job, I want bang for the buck.  When it comes to looks, form follows function.  I want the best performing bike and I don't care who's name is on it or how it looks.  What kind of girl puts looks over performance?

I think Harley guys look at their bike not as sports equipment but as a fashion statement, a social statement, an image, an icon, a status symbol, a lifestyle, an entrance fee into a club or a sub culture, an attention getter, something to grap onto and make them diffrent from all the other drones in the ant hill.

So what makes my bike valuable to me are qualities that are worthless to Harley guy, what makes a Harley valuable to Harley guy are qualities that are worthless to me.

If what I'm saying is true, I am at a very basic level approaching motorcycleing from a very diffrent angle than Harley guy, thus making me a different breed.  Does this make any sense to you?

Guess who.....Ford and Chevy have very similar performance and price.  If a Ford had 20% more horsepower than any Chevy at half the price I don't think the brand loyalty would be holding up like it does for Harley's.

  5. I love and own sportsbikes and riding anything with two wheels, but even if a harley or ANY bike is coming my way, I still nodd. Just because we prefer different shapes of metal, does not mean we don't have the same feeling in common. It does have to be said that the 'new' type of harley rider is a different breed and not one that I necessarily agree with - but that goes for sportsbike riders too.

Sorry if that's too openminded...the biking friternity shouldn't be partitioned.

    Keep the rubber side down...ya'll.

PS Is this a wind up question by any chance lol!

  6. not a different breed, just dropped on thier heads... or misled and too stubborn to admit my honda shadow just smoked em, and did more miles a day, and lasted longer, and got better mileage, and runs at better temp ranges, and runs smoother, and requires less maintinece... i really could go on for days.

if harley davidson had as many engineers as they have lawyers maybe i would ride one.

how about this one "if harley davidson built a plane would you ride on it?"

    - and a related piece of info... honda DOES make jets.

  7. Maybe different taste, but I ride a sport bike and refuse to be lumped into the same "us" as you.

Seriously, I don’t get this whole us vs. them mentality.  I ride with lawyers, bartenders, and everyone in between and have hella fun regardless of another biker’s social status.  How is that different from the type of bike you ride?  Get over yourself and try to relate to different people – then you can start to enjoy the true spirit of motorcycling.

  8. WHAT???? posers are different from motorcycle enthusiasts. Jerks can and do ride everything. So, pick the real people. The ones who look at the man or woman and not the bike they ride.

  9. us?  I am a successful executive, a mother and a homeowner and ride with my  boyfriend frequently.

  10. Do not put me in your US bracket. They ride bikes of their  chooseing and are not trying to make a statement  like the rest of us.  I  think you are the only one in your us

  11. I've said it before and i'll say it again.People have a right to ride whatever they want and it's no body's business but their own.WTF do you care? You don't have to pay for it,fix it,ride it or anything else.I have owned Japanese,Spanish,British, and American bikes over the years.I liked them all and i didn't buy any of them to impress anyone.I bought them because I liked them and i could care less what anyone else thinks of them.As for being a different breed?Yep i sure am a different breed than you because i ride because i enjoy it and i like seeing other people ride too.And i'm not all hung up over what they ride unlike you and a bunch of other people that can't wait to get on here and tell us all what c**p we ride. And anyone that truly loves motorcycles will tell you it doesn't mean s*** what a person rides, just that they ride.Maybe some day you'll figure that out.

And one other thing i try to answer any question about any kind of bike if i think i can help someone and i'll stop and help anyone on the road regardless of what they are riding.Do you? Or are you just here to try to keep stirring the pot?

  12. Doesn't matter what you ride so long as you have two wheels under you.

People who want to differentiate between US and THEM are the different breed.

  13. d**n RIGHT!!! I wouldnt hang with a bunch of squids unless they had hot girlfriends that wanna be with a man. Ya little limp wristed bashers dont talk much smack about the V-Rod or a Buell do ya?

Bottom line is Im AMERICAN and have no need for japcrap.

If ya wanna report me.... you swallow!

  14. yes, i am different than both sides of your bipolar personality thank you

  15. Who you calling US ?

Am I diffrent than a zit on a 180 mph crotch rocket I sure hope so

Or is US dirt bike racers  most of "US" have done that

Or are you still trying to get your 49cc chopper out of the crate?

Who the H is US or are you just trying to fit in "Somewhere"

  16. US ???

  17. It depends on who us is

  18. No, but I differentiate between Harley "riders" and Harley "owners".

Some of the best people I've met on the road throw their leg over a Harley.

Harley "owners" are just godless status-seeking attention whores.  I hope they are a different breed from us.

Don't worry about fitting in.  Be a rider, not a clone.

  19. I used to work with a Harley rider at the office.  He was no different (from the rest of us) at the office - a follower.

Then put him on his bike, and he THINKS he's a rebel.  Give me a break.

    Good luck...

  20. knowing many harley riders, i would just put it to personal choice, like the arguement between ford and chevy lovers.  There are those that would never drive a ford,  and i have talked to those that love their fords and would never want anything else.  So i dont think there is a differnce in the * breed*  or the mentality....... it is just a matter of personal preference.

  21. I don't quite know what you mean by us? but i assume you mean other bikers.Harley's are shiny, noisy and very costly.Believe the main difference is Harley riders have more money.

  22. I don't think there a different breed thaket only thing is that they love bikes and some are bikeies. But There Stilll Same
