Do u cut a bamboo above or below the segment to regrow roots or another bamboo?

Bamboo doesn't start from cuttings. You need to dig up the rhizomes or shoots for transplanting to start bamboo. Be advised though that bamboo is a very invasive plant and can take over an entire area if not controlled. Being a member of the grass family it can spread like wild fire.
