Many have there opinions on the homeless. Some say they are lazy, some say there luck has run out, some say that they lost whatever they had due to alcohol and drugs. I think the majority of people will walk past a homeless person. There are those who feel like if a homeless person is persistent enough (especially where I am) (NYC) they could make $20-$30 an hour.

Most people won't give to the homeless because they know that most likely that dollar will be used for drugs or alcohol. Do u give? If not, why?

  1. so they can buy drugs and alchy nope. that is the reason they behinds are begging they are past the point of no return supporting their habbit by giving them drug money will not help.

  2. Yes, I give when I feel it in my heart, but there are times when I want to give but I don't even have enough money for myself.

  3. Yes I give out of faith.

The homeless needs it, whether I know it or not he/she needs it for what ever reason.

If they are scamming then the faith I have in God will see to it that the money I give to others in need will get to where it is supposed to go. Someway somehow and at the right time my money will serve those who need it. That is a promise from God. Give He says and be assured that what you give "I" will see to it that it reaches the poor, and the needy. (I'm paraphrasing here okay?)

So I give, because I know the money will go to one who needs it. I know that.

  4. It doesn't matter who they are or their circumstances.  When you give, you give from the heart, without reciprocation.  You don't tell them how they should spend the money, you just gave them.  Don't even bother to consider them, if this is the case.

Put yourself in their place.  It could happen!  It is a lot easier than it looks from your perspective.

I have spent the last 25 years helping the homeless, the addicted, the abused, the people that society kicks to the curb, like rubbish!  They are as yesterday's lepers in today's society!  These are people too!  Most of them are the most honest, "real" people I have ever met in my life!   They truly care about someone other than themselves!!

God loves them no less than anyone else.  For every person I help, I see the face of Jesus in front of me saying thank you!  This is all the thanks I need to carry on...

  5. If I had any food on me or if they were next to a grocery store or fast food place, I'd give them some food, but I wouldn't give them money. I don't know what they're going to spend it on

  6. Sometimes I give and sometimes I don't. It all depends on the vibe I get from the homeless person. If he looks like a druggie and asks for money, I would offer to give him food instead. Once as I was leaving a restuarant with a plate of leftovers,  a homeless man approached me and said he was really hungry so I gave him the full plate and he was so grateful.
