  1. Pick a topic, something you like to do, something you know a lot about and write about it!  Start there, tell  about how it makes you feel  say you like to skate board, or water ski  or whatever you like to do!  Write about your experience when you are doing this, how your feeling when you do this, be as expressive as you can with words, start writing, you can change it later and make it better, things will come to you and you will know what changes to make!  I hope this helps you and good luck!!  Cheers!!!

  2. I'm not sure what you mean by "poem outlines"--study guides? Cliff Notes?

If you're looking for formula's to follow to write a poem, I find it helps, occasionally to take a poem that's already been written, replace the words with their parts of speech, and then fill it in, sort of like a MadLib. For example, if you take Steven's "Disillusionment at Ten O'Clock"

    The houses are haunted

    By white night-gowns.

    None are green,

    Or purple with green rings,

    Or green with yellow rings,

    Or yellow with blue rings.

    ....

And then replace it with parts of speech:

    [noun][(linking) verb (to be)][past participle]

    [preposition] [adjective] [noun]

[pronoun] [(linking) verb (to be)] [adjective]

    [conjunction] [adjective] [preposition][adjective][noun]

    [conjunction] [adjective] [preposition][adjective][noun]

    [conjunction] [adjective] [preposition][adjective][noun]

    etc.

Go through the whole poem doing this, and then go back, focusing on an entirely different topic and fill in the blanks..

  3. I'm afraid poetry isn't an exact science. It comes in many types. If you want one with strict guides, you can look for the more strict forms, such as haiku (which, contrary to popular belief, involves a lot more than just counting syllables.). Personally, I prefer free verse. It's easier for me to express my meanings without worrying over counting and rhyming.

  4. whats a poem outline? like the cheat sheet for a poem?

to help you write a poem, you take whatever you feel, and put it down.... dont edit till the end. dont think, just let the words come, and then go back and edit.
