  1. No.

There are only two commonwealth countries apart from the UK that have the Union Jack on their flag - Australia and New Zealand

Fiji and Newfoundland have both previously been members and have the Union Jack on their flags.

Cook Islands, British Columbia, and Bermuda all have Union Jacks in their flags, but are not members of the Commonwealth of Nations.

The presence of the Union Jack is more to do with the traditional links to the UK than with membership of the Commonwealth of Nations

  2. I cannot see any reason a nation would have the Union Jack on their flag unless they were a member of the commonwealth.  A poster noted that the Canadian flag does not have a Union Jack.  This is true, but only since the Maple Leaf Flag was adopted back in the 1960's.  Before that Canada flew a flag called the Red Ensign that had the Union Jack in the corner.  Some Canadian Provinces have the Union Jack in their provincial flags and coat of arms.

  3. The state of Hawaii has the Union Jack on their state flag. They are part of the United States and not the British comonwealth.

  4. Massachusetts is a "commonwealth", and they don't have a union jack thingie.

  5. Yes. But you can observe that Canada doesn't have the Union Jack on their flag. But they could.

  6. Well i dont see why a country would want it on their flag if they were not in the commonwealth and as for Hawaii America used to be British didnt it?
