Understanding the golf swing does not require a certification. The ability to relate as a teacher do not come with certification. Being a common sense coach is the best answer, certification or not. Most "scratch" players can spot a bad influence teacher. Ask around, some scratch golfers may even give you a good tip to work on.

there are colleges that offer golf insruction degrees . these graduates can teach . you still should be pga approved more oppurtunities the other ones on the back of matchbooks
