  1. You never know what mother nature will send our way - weather wise that is -

    I mulch my roses in the Fall with lots of leaves and branches the cover it with a rose cone.

    But I live in Canada where the winds and ice can really damage a rose bush.


  2. You shouldn't have to. If it is sold in your local nursery then it should grow well in your area without any special treatment. It is zoned USDA zones 5-9. If you are not sure what zone you are consult the map in the link below.

Not as long as you are in its zone.  But note that they are "late risers" so they will look bare and sad until the ground warms up later in springtime.  Just be patient in the spring, because they are hardy and very forgiving, they just like to "sleep in" a little but if you remember that, it will not concern you - leave yourself a note so you don't think they are dead in the spring when they are just slow to put out their leaves.
