No, but to be an accredited chef you might want to go to a few culinary art schools.

Not really there are some good cooking school. Or you can start in a restuarant, and work your way up. watch and keep notes

i know the art institutes offer culinary art programs, and they have campuses all across the U.S. and some in Canada.

Are you planning on becoming a chef? If so, you could go to a community college that offers a Culinary Arts Program or you could go to a culinary school to turn your passion into cooking into a rewarding career.

My recommendation is to go to school and earn a degree in culinary arts either at a community college or at a culinary school. A degree might not be required but having a degree will help you better advance your career.

To be a chelf?  No.

To be a chef?  Maybe.  You can either go to a culinary school (which will help you tremendously), or you can apprentice for a chef (if you're lucky and you know one that thinks you have potential).  I would go to culinary school...
