  1. No you don't need an account to purchase with a money order.  You buy money orders with cash.  They are available at grocery stores, post offices, and lots of gas stations.

Just fill out the bottom part with your name and address.  Be sure to keep the receipt section in case there are any issues about the money order being lost or applied to the wrong account.

  2. To get one from a bank you need to have some sort of relationship with the bank, any type of account will do. If you don't have an account they wont sell you one.

You could go to Western Union (stop and shop has them at the customer service desk), or to the post office and buy one there for cash. I think they cost like $10

  3. I think the money orders at the post office are the least expensive.  From their website:

    Fees:

    $0.01 to $500.00 .......................$1.05

    $500.01 to $1,000.00 ................$1.50

You can ask the place you buy it from exactly how to fill it out.  Usually, there's a place to fill in who the money order is for, a place to fill in who it is from, and a line to write what it is for.  On the line for what it is for, I would fill in the eBay item number.  Don't forget to ask them what part you keep as your receipt.
