depending on your phone when you sign in to yahoo messenger and sign in to your phone, it may or may not send you a text message they may have changed it, because i had an old phone and it would send me a text message and charge me 10 cents for that text message saying i signed in, but when i got my new phone i signed in and it didn't send me a text msg or charge me to sign in, but when you recieve a message from someone it charges as a text msg. you need a texting plan so it doesn't charge you, but it does use up your textes so be careful, it just depends on your phone.
