Do u have to take anything out of a chicken before u roast it?

  1. It depends on the extent to which it has been cleaned at the butcher's. You should look inside the cavity and see if there is anything left there, accidentally or purposely. It doesn't hurt to do a rinse of the cavity, either.

    After that, you may or may not wish to stuff it. If you do stuff it, add the liver, the chopped up gizzard, and the neck to the stuffing for extra flavor.

  3. Turkeys usually come with the neck and some other parts stuffed into the inside of the turkey.  Sometimes, though rarely, they do the same with chickens.  Look inside of it.  Look on the package before buying to see if it comes with or without these things.

  4. Usually chicken sold are clean and you need not take anything out of it. But still I usually clean poultry before I do anything. Keep it under running water, cleaning inside out with your hands and keep in a plate or under a strainer for 5 minutes. It should be all right to proceed after this.
