  1. Sharky is a complete moron. England has never ruled over Scotland. In fact, the time before the first Scottish War of Independence was one of relative peace and harmony between the nations.

yeas, we've all seen Braveheart, and it's a cracking film, but it's no more a historical account than Gallipoli or The Patriot.

  2. Ah....The late, and great William Wallace.

Scotland..Scottish, and in a time period when the English ruled that part of the world, and were a scary and intimidating army or government. So then william decided to try and to make a difference by trying to liberate his people from the mighty oppression laid upon them by the English..Many Scottish men and there women supported, and also the Irish and there women supported his cause against those Evil Rulers.....Its a great story !

  3. Isabella of France, wife of Edward II, did not have a love child with William Wallace.

However, William Wallace along with Jeanne d'Arc are two of the most fascinating people in history. They did a lot to advance the idea of a nation-state that we know today.

  4. Braveheart.

  5. Alas, I know enough about William Wallace to bemoan "Braveheart's" historical inaccuracies, although undoubtedly Wallace is one of Scotland's greatest heroes.

  6. Sir William Wallace ( 1272-76 – 23 August 1305) was a Scottish knight, landowner, and patriot who is renowned for leading a resistance during the Wars of Scottish Independence.

Along with Andrew Moray, he defeated an English army at Stirling, and became Guardian of Scotland, serving until his defeat at the Battle of Falkirk. After several years in hiding, Wallace was eventually found in Scotland and handed over to Edward I of England, who had him executed for treason.

Wallace was the inspiration for the poem, The Acts and Deeds of Sir William Wallace.

  7. Even now we still do not have 100% Independence !

    Vote Independence in 2010
