  1. Another game you can play is 3-ball it has an unlimited number of players and all you have to do is see who takes the least number of shots to make the three balls in

  2. how bout 3 player? i love cut-throat. there are 3 players. one has the 1-5 balls, another has the 6-10 balls and the third has the 11-15 balls. on person breaks (same settup as 8 ball) then every one shoots at the balls, taking turns. you can sink your own balls and keep shooting but its not a great idea. you normally shoot at any other peoples balls and the last one w/ balls on the table wins.

  3. You can play "9" Ball.

  4. A fun one a friend and I play sometimes we call reverse pool. You break normally then you try to sink your balls by caroming off the cue ball. For example if you are solids, you would try shooting the 3 ball at the cue ball and try to carom the 3 into the pocket you called.

  5. I would refer you to the Billiards Congress of America (BCA) website.  I'll post it below.  Look under game rules.  The standard game that most people play, on coin-op bar tables for instance, is called 8-ball.  8-ball is also commonly called "stripes and solids", "bigs and littles", or "highs and lows".  Other games that I would recommend you look into first would be 14.1 continuous, more commonly called "straight pool" and rotation games like 9-ball and 7-ball.  Just check out the rules and see which games sound appealing.  Personally, I love straight pool.  Happy shooting!!
