well i lived there 4 a few years and when i fist got there ppl were not very friendly at all i acutaly had a rock thrown through my window in my firs month after a while it did become easier anyway

i thought it was a butiful place i loved it

I know that there's a lot of temples & spa resorts there. Apparently babi panggang (roasted pig) is a popular dish there. That's all I know about Bali.

Bali is beautiful with its gentle sloping hill terraces planted with rice, a quiet calm in the countryside and bustling beaches of Kuta and the like.

If you like action, hustle, crowds and a sense of hectic atmosphere then stay near the beach. If you want to enjoy the scenery and find a sense of place, then head to Ubud or any other locale away from the main strip.

There are lots of cultural villages and resorts spread across the island to immerse yourself in its history, its temples and religion and its food and festivals.

If you're not sure, then opt for both. Choose Kuta Beach for madhouse fun and then an east coast or central village for relaxing and chilling with more local flavour.

Lol you are obviously not an Aussie :) I'm from Australia, and sooo many people go to Bali all the time. Although, it is a very high risk place in terms of terrorist attacks, and, other than that it is just full of drunk Australians frying to buy cheap video games.

hot island in this time of year cos is the time the Indonesian start burning their farms and it can get very bad up to Thailand........lol

Great place, avoid the touristy south of the island and get to Ubud and the other coastal areas
