im planning to go to mexico this summer and im planning to take the charter bus to mexico i live in california do i need a passport?

Yes you do. They don't generally check when you go into Mexico, but if you plan on coming back customs will need it to let you back into the US.

You have to have the passport CARD...you don't have to have the book so it's a little bit cheaper.
