Do u need riser pads on your skateboard?

when i go on this site to build my completes they dont have riser pads that they give u option to buy but when ii go on other sites they give u a option to buy so do i need riser pads? http://www.a1skateboards.com

  1. not necessary for street skating..its preferred for vert skating though

    actually no, definitely dont get it for street skating


  2. ^^ that guy is actually retarded......you should get them...they absorb shock on your board causing it to be harder to crack...so yea you should get them

  3. Riser pads are not necessary.  They give you more clearance between the wheel and the deck, reducing wheel bite.  They are very useful with larger wheels. They come in sizes from 1/8" to 1/2". If you want to lessen the chance for board cracks, then get shock pads.  They are made of rubber, unlike the hard plastic used for risers, so they will dampen shocks and vibrations.  Shock pads will give more clearance between the deck and wheels, but only come in 1/8".  In either case, they are only about $5 more from a local skate shop, or you can add them on to your order.  You might need to get new hardware to accommodate the thickness of the risers or shock pads.
