If you have a Linksys or Netgear Router you can turn of the firewall that blocks your PS3.  The easiest way is to put your PS3 in the router's DMZ.  There are downloadable instructions on how to do this on your router's manufacturer's website.

Network Address Translation it means and it is in relation to networking and sometimes acts as a firewall which is why it is probably stopping your PS3 on the internet? so further to this you will need to From your computer, log into your router..
