  1. Yeah that's old enough, as long as your body can take it and stuff.

  2. not on a road

  3. There's a BIG difference between being physically able to operate a motor vehicle and being able to take the responsibility.

In my opinion younger people can actually learn to operate bicycles (and so probably motorcycle) BETTER than older people who are learning for the first time (or learn easier).

But that is different (again) from operating them SAFELY.  You see many children making dangerous moves while older people think twice before darting in and out of traffic.

Also a simple brain injury at that young age has traumatic effect on the person.  Many people with personality disorder have been shown with early brain injuries.

    ===

So to be on the safe side, I would say no.

    Good luck...

  4. Bearing in mind how some 16 year olds ride their bikes around my estate giving me several near heart attacks I think not! Attitudes need to be changed before any law change.

  5. h**l no.

  6. If you feel that you are ready to drive, then drive it.

  7. No, be 16 like the laws state. Take the training classes also.

  8. Maybe your talking about scooters in France.

  9. Maybe over there you can but not here. You have to be 16.

  10. No.

  11. Stick to driving in fields, back roads, and trails for now like the rest of us had to do!

    The more experience the better!

And clearly my answer is NO it's bad enough they let some 15/16 yo drive! They should have to pass a maturity test first!

  12. Yes just be careful when driving in traffic.

  13. yeah sure why not.... if they are trained to handle it, they can handle the smaller ones.... smaller bikes don't acta  whole lot diffrent then bicycles do in terms of handling and the 'feel' of it....

my dirt bike for example just feels like a really heavy bicycle... it handles just the same.. i can lock up the rear wheel and use that to drift the *** end, i easily just swing it back and fourth while going down the street etc etc.... like i said, it just feeels like a really heavy bicycle

just because kids around you ride their bikes like maniacs, doesn't mean all do... i never did... at 14 i would have been perfectly capable of riding my dirt bike in the same fashion i do now, at 23.... i'm a very defensive driver, because i'm the one that will suffer if i get in a wreck.... i knew this same fact when i rode my bicycle at 14 and it influenced my riding the same way that knowledge influences my riding today...

so to h**l with everyone who thumbed me down... there are idiots at 35, 70, and 56 years old too.... you can't take idiots away from driving... unless you take driving away from everyone.... so i don't agree with 'attitude adjustments'.... going by that same logic those other idiots in other age groups should have to 'grow up' as well... but they don't... so it's hypocritical to apply it to one, and not the other.

then again, i was a gifted child.... highly intelligent... i understood cause and effect long before anyone else around me ever did.... i believe i was still sipping through a sippy-cup when i learned this.
