  1. well technically no, they're not kids...  but realistically, they don't have very much independent experience yet either.  they're definitely YOUNG adults

i think those first 5 - 10 years after someone moves out on their own are the "becoming a grownup" years...  and, as johnnie b pointed out, not everyone is entirely successful

p.s. just curious, why is this under the "Global Warming" heading?

  2. That's real simple to answer:  Is the 19 year old financially independent of his/her parents?  A financially independent person is an adult.  A financially dependent person, of sound mind and body, is a child (regardless of age).

  3. Very young adult.  Not really wise enough yet.

  4. Funny!

Obviously never been a parent or school teacher.

In fact, giving young people adult bodies and immature minds is one of God's biggest jokes on we who have to protect them.

  5. Age is not as relevant as experience and perspective.  Here's how I see it, however:  The older I get (I'm 38) the more I realize I've got so much more to learn.

  6. We are all different through all our ages.  We're different at 18 than at 25 and different again at 35, 45, 65 etc.

  7. What does this have to do with global warming?

  8. first, one wonders why this is posted under global warming?

however, the fact that it is, implies that it's part of the question.

    now, to the answer:

    neither.

brain development continues to mature until the age of 25 or so.

it's interesting that it's only recently that we've had the scientific equipment to be able to image the brain, and see that this is true.

however insurance companies have known this for decades.

insurance rates for boys declines at about 25, and has done so for 50 years that i know of.

isn't it interesting how,  50+ years before all the evidence is available, people take the correct actions to address the reality of a situation?

wouldn't it be good if the obvious problem of climate change were addressed before the last possible measurement had been made?

or is that too much to ask?

  9. Some 13 year old s who grew up in hard circumstances are totally grown up

And some 60 year olds still think and act like kids.

so take your pick anything in between can be

Legal age in most places today is

    between 16 to 18

19 year old is in most countries classified as grown up

  10. What has this got to do with global warming

  11. my 19 year old keeps saying he is a grown *** man, I tell him not till you pay your own way.  He wants all the privilege of adulthood without the responsibility and from what I've been reading he is in the majority of young adults between 18 and 25.

  12. i think that 19 year olds that use u instead of you and r instead of are qualify as still kids but that is only my opinion....it does not necessarily mean that it is indicative of maturity or lack thereof.....but generally it depends on the maturity level and what they have accomplished and what they intend to accomplish....if you are focused and mature you will be considered an adult by most that know you and for those you have not met it is the perfect opportunity to make a first impression as a 19 year old adult....19 is still young to be considered experienced in most of what life will throw at you

  13. I have Sean adults that behave like kids.

  14. grownups but kids at heart

  15. I think 19 is a young adult.. even up to 21..
