  1. I think it's a bit unfair that they have a huge team along with America. Surely there must be a limit as to how many athletes a country can have, but yes i think they cheated. One of China's gymnast's suddenly became 15 and all of her files went missing!

  2. well the Uk sent that 14 year old diver, i say good for them that they can beat adults

  3. Nadia Commenichi was about 14 when she became the first gymnast to score a perfect 10 and she did it 5 times in 1976. She is still my favorite gymnast and Olympian of all time.

I do not understand silly rules that prescribe an age to qualify. Face it, if you can't beat a 14 year old can you claim be an Olympic Champion?

I strongly support and also cheer the 14 year old diver from Britain and other athetes who compete at the highest level at these ages.

The US must learn to be better losers. Drug users are cheats, not children.

  4. NO JUST COS YOUR COUNTRY LOST!!

SORE LOSER. it is the Olympics not some school marathon. It is judged by the world committee

  5. No...I don't believe so.

Great Britain has used a 14 year old diver.  Nobody is talking about that...

I wonder why people are so antagonistic towards the hosts..could it be the seething undercurrent of racism or just blatant hatred of their political system.?

  6. Saying someone is underage just by looking at them is like accusing someone of being a criminal because he has a crooked mustache. Is it correct to accuse Phelps of being fast because of new undetectable U.S. designer drugs?

The IOC have verified the age of the gymnasts. If you don't have faith in the IOC which comprises officials from all over the world, don't participate in the Olympics.

If you want to talk about cheating, what about the Gymnast Paul Hamm of the U.S.A. who kept his gold medal despite the IOC declaring that he did not win it.

If you want to peddle political issues, go talk to Bush whose illegal war is killing thousands of civilians and children in Iraq.

And if you can't stand losing, don't LOSE! Better luck in London next time around.

  7. no, i don't think so three,lol

  8. yes they got new passports in febuary with a different date of birth on it!!! they broke the rules and should be stripped of their medals just as those who take drugs ect!! o to those who are saying that uk had 14 yr old diver dont know anything!! in the diving there isn't an age limit like the chinese had a 15 yr old girl!!! its only certain events and in gymnastics you had 2 be over 16 and some of the chinese team weren't!

  9. no ,i dont think so

  10. yeah and that one gut even said one reason it is cheating cause the children have lighter bodies so they can move more easily and do better on thier performances so i think nastia SHOULD have gotten that gold medal

  11. and what are u gonna do about it? nothing!!!!!

  12. No one want to be stupid to use children to cheat adults because children are always regarded as the handicap group for games & tournament.   If they can come up to match the adults, what is wrong, did they bully the adult or the other way round.

The next talk is underage, what is wrong in that when it is ok in age by the Olympics Committee for the host.  China size is much smaller than US.  the US -16 is like 22 yrs in height & size whereas the Chinese is like 14 yrs when they are 18.  When you loose, there is all sort of accusation but when win, no say just laugh.

  13. No, I don't think so too. Where was the cheating excatly?

  14. yes.....but its a game

  15. Don't get hung up on age ~ they cheated by submitting ineligible athletes.

  16. YES I DO !!!!! BUT THEN AGAIN WAS THERE A CERTAIN AGE LIMIT ???? BECAUSE IF IT WAS NOT  AND 14 WAS A  LEGAL AGE THEN NO THEY DID NOT CHEAT !!!!!!!

  17. do you think us and uk cheated their way into Iraq? a proven verdict as far as a lot of people are concerned.

  18. Would you rather them put the children to work in sweatshops?

  19. I think it's unfair to the other countries in the competition, but with that said, I think FIG should butt out of the age debate and let anybody who is capable compete.

You don't get good at gymnastics just by having a light body, as evidenced by the Japanese competitor in the beam final who was SMALLER than the Chinese, but performed WORSE.

It's also worth pointing out that the age limit was only raised from 14 to 16 in 1997, and FIG/IOC have allowed underaged competitors in the past by special application before the competition.

These girls train for YEARS before they're ready for an Olympics, so it's certainly ridiculous to claim that it is for their safety. It's also odd that in order to automatically qualify for the Olympics you have to rank well in the world championships the year before, so by de-facto the girls are forced to perform at the age of 15.

    Silly, silly rule.
