  1. i think that 5x Silver Slugger Award winner (1992, 1996, 2003, 2004, 2005)

    9x All-Star selection (1992, 1993, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2003, 2004, 2005)

    World Series champion in 1997

Led NL in batting average in 1992

Led NL in total bases in 1992

and 492 HRs, which will be 500 soon will get him

  2. Only with an aterisk by his name like so many others of this generation.

  3. Yes he will make it!!!!

  4. With all the baggage he brings with him I doubt that he will make it.  He has never been kind to his teammates, the media, or the fans.  He conveniently played the race card when it has suited him.  He has always overrated his own self importance with every team he has played for.  He has been implicated in the steroid and HGH issues of the day.

When you add all this up there is no reason why the Baseball Writers Association, as a whole, would want someone like him in the hall.  Sheffield's number are impressive but do you really think he should be considered as "One of the best of the best"?  I think not.

  5. No I don't think so. He won't make it because he was good but not great. Only the great are in the HOF.

  6. jajajaja i dont even like him hes batting under .220 rite now.

  7. yes

  8. The biggest drag against his getting in is that he has been with so many teams. He is a very good player and his record warrants his getting in, but the writers (and most of the Y/A people) don't like black guys who they think make trouble. He should go in. I won't hold my breath waiting, though.

  9. WHY NOT ??? All of his stats are better than "Saint" Jim Rice's.

Everywhere else, except in Fenway, "Saint" Jim Rice was a dog.
