China need 20 years since communist to catch out with the world and we are 51 year after Merdeka and still lagging behind :(.. many be another 20-30 years before we can be the host of Olympics

Malaysia though hosted the Commonwealth Games , we are now talking about the Olympics. No,  Malaysia simply is not good enough to host the Olympics. Look at the tons of money spent on those cracked buildings and bridges .....Look at the unorganized public transport in KL...The unefficiency of the government...I won't even say ' Olympics', ' host' and 'Malaysia' on one breath.

..just repeat the effort made for the last Commonwealth Games and multiply by 2 or 3....i guess that wuld do the trick....i feel Malaysia can go for 2024 Olympics....

...if the athletes tak tahan the humid climate hold the Track and Field and all outdoor sports kat Tanah Rata...CamHi...i think tat place is big enuf and the climate is very mild....coz all the indoors can be held in aircon atmosphere....

I'd like to say yes but it's highly unlikely... judging by the awesome display by the Chinese during the opening ceremony for this year's Olympics were simply - breathtaking.

If M'sia could provide the same i.e. quality venues, proper equipments, etc, maybe... just maybe we'd be able to meet the grade then=P

Its way too expensive to host one.

We can't even afford to maintain our own existing sports stadium, let alone building new facility for the Olympics.

Haha... maybe. It's way larger than hosting the Commonwealth Games. 16 years from now maybe, that makes it 2024.

Okay that's too bad to say but well... we did host the Commonwealth didn't we? At it was a great success, wasn't it?

Mmm... well, we do have the capabilities and infrastructure and what not.

But I do suggest however that we only "ask" about it when we have better performance in sports.

I hope not.  Public's money will be used to build all kinds of stadiums and amenities and in the end, all proceeds from the influx of visitors and investments will be siphoned by the govt.
