  18. To become a Prime Minister, Najib has to become the President of UMNO first. Abdullah had announced that he would pass over to Najib when he retired in 2010 but Abdullah failed to realised or rather refused to accept the fact that his position is being severely threatened not only by Anwar but by his own UMNO peoplie. If Abdullah himself has lost support within his own party, how could the party accept his "pre-appointment" of Najib as a PM. Abdullah himself may be ousted by Anwar or being forced to step down even before 2010. Already some quarters in UMNO has thrown their support for other candidates to run for the party's President position and rejected Najib to be the president of UMNO. Najib rise to his present status was due to Mahathir and since Mahathir is no longer in power, Najib is own his own now. At the same time, Najib himself is linked to too many scandals and eventhough at present he his safe due to protection from the "people in power", his reputation has been greatly tarnished, not only among Malaysians but foreigners as well. Regardless of whether Anwar succeeds in eliminating BN from the government or not, Najib is very highly unlikely to become PM and he doesn't deserve to become one.
