  1. Mr Hex Vision is a nice guy. His answer is always the best without bias.

  2. I believe you get quite a balanced news out of China. From one extreme (China Daily, Xinhua etc.) to the other extreme (Epoch Times). And 1000's of sources inbetween. You will be able to get well informed.

  3. Yes. All media, negative or 'positive' affects people, Americans included even though as a whole we are plagued with apathy. No one is denying the progress China has made but duh! what country has not changed since imperialism or even earlier? The point is China has an issue with human rights. This is a fact, an important fact. The U.S. needs do clearly define our foreign policy and stop preaching against terrorism on our shores and aiding and befriending terrorist or the sort everywhere else! We say one thing and do another, frankily I love America but we need better chess players. 2008 Whats our move?

  4. You make it sound like us Americans haven't done horrible things and propaganda hasn't been used in our history.  The Chinese wanted the Olympics to be hosted in their country so that they can show the world they are becoming a super power.  Personally, I'm afraid of a future where China has power over countries.  They portray themselves as humanitarians yet they've done horrible things.  Kind of ironic eh?

  5. We all  know that any Government  will  only tell the people, what they  want the  people  to  know.  The invstigative reporter uncovers ,what they will say is the  truth.   But again,  the  media  will  only  say  what sells.  hen  it comes  to judging governments  or people.   You  must see it  first  hand  in order  to rpoerly  make a jusdgement.  And the old syaing applies. "believe nothing  of  what you  hear and half of what  you see".  Situations are  complex and  need serious  fact finding,  not propaganda.  This holds  true the  world  around.

I  believe most  people worldwide realize  this. However, there are many  people tht  just  want  to push a  cause. They will blindly believe what  they read in  order  to satisfy their  own needs.

Here in china,I  attend  what  they  call an english  corner. It  is hel in the park.   I get many questions about the  western  world.  However, I havenot recieved  any  questions  abott  the western  worlds  attitude  towards  China.   Although, there has been discussions  regarding  the  governments.  most have  agreed  that  China has  improved  trmendously in the last  30 years.     I do  not look at  any  government  in rosey  glasses,  However,  i belive the chinese  government is doing what  they can.  It is an overwhelmingly termendous job.  Rome was  not built in a  day.  China  can not  improve  overnight.   The  PRC is relatively  young.  They have a massive job ahead of them in many aspects.

As far as the  olympics are  concerend. Those  people  around the  world that are  concerned abot the games, could probably care less of the  propaganda displayed in the  media.   they realize that this  is not the  proper venue  for political propaganda.  They will  enjoy  the games  here as well as the  hospitality  of the Chinese people.

  6. do you f***** realize that all that you know about china IS propaganda? china has the largest population in the world do you have any idea how hard it is for the government to provide for that many people

have you ever thought about where you heard about selling organs and killin people? from the same people who are making up for what they've said about china.

do you understand that for the past 100 years china has been attacked by germans, europeans, japanese, and their own people? do you think that it's that easy running a country?

do you think it's that easy hosting the olympics?

but we've done it. the olympic park is beautiful. the so called pollution is NOT pollution because the weather in beijing and the humidity causes it tO LOOK like the air is polluted. chinese supermarkets dont even use plastic bags anymore! they're trying their hardest to get back the reputation they deserve and all you can do is go by your biased uneducated guesses about the oldest country in the world!!!!!

i think you are very stupid.

as for tibet.. the dalai lama doesn't even want this to continue he said so... he told all his followers that all of this is unecessary.

  7. I, too, have been seeing many of those Chinese "commercials" recently.  I think critical thinkers are still able to decipher through that disguise though; only the ones who are biased for China are the ones choosing to see through rosy glasses.  I cracked up during PBS World News last evening, when the anchorwoman reported that China is "tightening security for fear of TERRORISM"-----from COMMON FARMERS & PEASANTS....as if those extremely impoverished, malnutritioned citizens has the money to buy supplies to make bombs, buy guns or other weapons to "attack Beijing" when they are struggling to feed their families.  The bottom line is that the communists don't want common, unwealthy citizens to tell the world the TRUTH.

The only reason foreigners see through rosy glasses is because they are merely "visitors," either for business, leisure, or studying abroad.  Even those ones who have chosen to move there for a few years of residency are still "foreigners."  Of course they get special treatment, as they bring in money for the government.  But, for those who cheer for communist party based on TEXTBOOK or internet knowledge, I always challenge them to live there as a COMMON PEASANT in any of those villages, stripped of all "foreigner privileges," for even a month.  Let's see how they feel about working hard in the rice fields and vegetable plantation as NOT an owner of those fields, but rather lowly workers who slave away all day, every day, and STILL can't bring enough food to feed their old parents (be the serving son/daughter to elders & take care of them) as well as their own children.  And watch the village leaders, who work for the government, eat 5- to 8-course lunches & dinners, with various meats and good quality rice, DAILY.

Or ask those foreigners to be one of those prisoners and see the "doctors" standing right beside them in their last few minutes of life, waiting with scalpels to take their organs.  Or live for just 1 hour in the lives of those many not-so-pretty orphans, who are put on the wait list for Westerners to adopt, while the aesthetically-pleasing ones are SAVED FOR THE GOVERNMENT to train for the Olympics or other opportunities to bring glory to the government.  Or even be lucky enough to have some education, enough to be able to THINK INDEPENDENTLY, and happen to say the wrong word to the wrong neighbor (who report to the government) and the "dogs" (the word we used to refer to those communist policemen) are there within minutes to throw them into prison-----all under the disguise of "civil disturbance."  And have any of these foreigners ever experienced FORCED ABORTIONS??  Or have their own children be brainwashed to "love the government, love the country" more so than even their own parents or family?  If anybody dares to love ANYTHING or ANYONE else other than Communism (their parents, children, or religion), they will also get thrown into prison for "civil disturbance."  Oh yes, they can link loving one's family more than Communism with Civil Disturbance, because that's "setting a bad example for the neighbors" and can lead others to follow this same "deviated" path of love.  THAT is considered as "civil disturbance."

There are sooo many more sad, but true, communist experiences that I can write a book about.  I have made it out to the U.S. in one piece and found my voice:  I have lived through communism, there is nothing else I wouldn't be able to survive through.  As for those who see the Chinese communist government through the rosy textbooks, cable channel reports, academic or political "debates," go live for even just 1 month in the common, impoverished peasants' lives in any village.  Then grab your paintbrush of experience and paint your view on a canvas of Western-world-freedom.  I await to see if the masterpiece of your experience still matches what the textbook and public media say about China.

  8. It influences many Americans. China and USA are currently engaged in an economic war.

Negative propaganda about China helps many Americans to vent their anger.

China also distributes negative propangda about the USA: Americans only eat MacDonalds hamburgers and enjoy s*x with anything that walks on two legs.

True? Maybe for a few, but it is hardly the case in mainstream soceity

  9. Please, propaganda is used by all sides. Where do you get all this information about China but from the Western media? It's true that the negative things you describe do occur in China, but not to the point that Western media exaggerates it to. When was the last time, you heard anything good about China from the media that does not include negative undertones? China is a developing nation, it is not yet at the point that many Western countries have been able to advance to over the years, simply because China in its current state has not even existed as long as the US. Instead of criticizing, have you looked at how much faster China has progressed than the US in moving forward? Have you considered all the things China has tried to do over the years to improve? No, every time China tries to change anything, it is met with more criticism about something else. The strangest thing I've found about all this is simply this: China is not a Democracy, so why do you judge it by the rules of a Democracy? The truth is that China will continue receiving pressure and criticism from all sides until it is forced to convert to a form of government that resembles that of the critics. How absolutely arrogant is that? China IS changing all the time, it's changing dramatically with every generation. It is already becoming more open all the time, even without any Western interference. It has problems, as any country, and over time, it will learn to fix them on its own. Maybe it will change into a completely different kind of government system that's neither Communism nor Democracy. Would that be so bad? After all, Democracy is a human invention. Is it beyond your imagination to envision a government that could be better than a Democracy?

  10. It does.  It also influence on both sides.  The problem is that there are many idiots out in the world.  They are willing to believe anything their own media says.  That apply to both China and the rest of the world.  So, when that happens, mis-understanding can be planted and wars had been started that way.

That is why I am fearful of this constant bashing would lead to.

People needs more culture exchange and understanding, not constant bashing of each other.

  11. No it does not influence the people of the world, even the Chinese people doe not believe every thing the Chinese government says. They know they do bad things, cover things up but at the same time they also look to there government to lead them. If the local government does something bad they will let them know and they often end up with the locals causing trouble, aka not that long along 10,000 - 30,000 people went to a local police station to protest about the cover up of a death of a local schoolgirl, in the end the station was burn to the ground. I think if it was LA it would have been called a riot...

In fact most of the Chinese people would like to see a change in the government because of the corruption that is in it. But at the same time they do not want to see there country collapse like many other countries do then they are overthrown or are pushed before there time (AKA Russia)

However most people from industrialised countries seem to think that the norm for any country should be there own, USA is not China and China is not the USA. China still has many years to go through a growing process that includes social, environmental  and political processes, the same thing happen in Europe and the USA once-upon-a-time.

I'm sure the people of China would like a country like that standards of the USA but for a country to be able to do to you have to reach a standard in which you can efficiently make them work. Industrial nations do have the capital, energy, resources and the technology to make there social norms. Developing counties along with third world counties on the other hand do not, and because of this lack they will tend look "evil" in industrialised countries.

Maybe as a thought, if these industrialised countries shared there technology, resources and wealth with the same time opening up to them then these reforms could happen faster.
