  1. Um, yes, the Pakistan supported the Taliban from the very beginning, Pakistan was the only country to recognize the Taliban government. They saw a Taliban controlled Afghanistan as a bulwark against Soviet and Indian influence in the region. There's no reason to believe they feel any different today, because Bush bribed and threatened Pakistan to join his GWOT just means Pakistan had to be a lot more discrete supporting the Taliban. Remember the Taliban was and is essentially a Pashtun organization, and most of the Pashtuns live in Pakistan and regard their Pashtun relatives in Afghanistan as fellow countrymen despite what the artificial European colonial imposed border says.

Short answer: Of course, people will always support their friends and relatives in any way they can.

  2. yes,  money, arms, food, training, and provide a (not for much longer)safe haven

  3. Not the Pakistani government. But many Pakistani people do support them.

  4. Yes

The Pakistani intelligence service (ISI) created the Taliban.    They provide funds, intelligence and most importantly, they look the other way when the Taliban retreats across the Pakistani border in search of a safe haven.

  5. WTF? Their own troops get killed by militias.
