  1. He certainly can - though he probably shouldn't.  Nevertheless, our brains go in directions they shouldn't all the time ;) . However, it is not wise to indulge in those fantasies or act upon them.  If this happens often and he can't control his urges but wants to be ethical, he should possibly consider a new profession - or be very selective in making sure he never has one-on-one or private interactions with students to whom he finds himself attracted.

  2. When I was in college there was a teacher in his late 60's who had girls in their 20's "earning" a's from him, it was sick and I don't know how he didn't get fired.....I guess he was better at hiding it from his coworkes than he was the students...

  3. of course tehy do it all the time

  4. Everyone has the freedom to think what they want.... as long as they don't intrude on other people's rights.  As long as they keep their fantasies to themselves and cause no harm to others, they're free to do what they want...  Not saying that's right, but no law prohibits them from fantasizing anything.

  5. Oh yea, I don't think it is normal but it can definitely happen.

  6. A student can also have fantasies about her 30 year older teacher.

  7. The fantasy in itself is ok.

But he must never, EVER act on those fantasies.  And he must also be careful not to give the girl any special treatment, consciously or unconsciously...

Hopefully, the man will be smart enough NOT to tell anyone about these fantasies.  These things have a way of wrecking careers and destroying lives...

  8. Yes, and they should never mention them or act on them.
