  1. they would go better than they are with brian smith but dont think he will be coaching them for a while..

i am a knights fan maself and hoping he will coach them in the future but cant see it happening any time soon :(

  2. i dont think so

  3. hmm i dunno.. maybe he is best to stay in the commentators box..

  4. Not all great players become great coaches. The best coach was Jack Gibson and he was classed as an average player.  Same with Bellamy, Sheens and Bennett.  Churchill, Fulton and Langlands were good coaches though.

He may be able to do it, but a lot don't live up to their playing ability.

  5. No offence to Brad Fittler, I think he's a champ, but the roosters didn't just start winning because Fittler starting coaching. Don't forget they had a line of good signings for 2008 that they didn't have in 2007 and they were just stuck in a rut which a change of coach to anyone would have got them out of.

About Joey, mate, he's already coaching half of the number 6s and 7s in the NRL now. I think he would be a great coach, he knows the game in a way that not many people do and if he were to coach, there's a lot of game he could improve (evidenced already). A full-time first-grade coach, though, is a place I don't think we're likely to see him in anytime soon. He might not want the pressure or the responsibilty of it again (after his playing career). Anyway, I heard that Mathew was considering coaching first-grade...

  6. yeh, look what he has done with the likes of finch and Ben Roberts. However he has already said that he won't coach, the pressure is too much on the guy and you can't blame him after he came out saying he suffered from depression.

    Good luck to him though.

  7. i think the team he coached would be a one man team like when he played for the knights and what type of rolwe model would he be to the young players how he took drugs his whole career

  8. he would make a good coach. maybe not the have the same sucess as fittler but i'd say he would have a good go at it in the future.

  9. I don't believe Andrew Johns would make a good coach.

He should be banished from the game all together.  They should make an example of him! There is no room for drugs in sport and definately no room for users.  Thanks channel 9 for paying for his habit!!

  10. All you guys who are saying johns said he wont coach just remember 3 things brad fittler said he would never do;

    1. Get Married

    2.Have Children

    3. Coach First Grade

Freddie is now married with 2 children and is coaching the Sydney Roosters(And doing a d**n good job if you ask me)

As for Joey, i think him working with other teams halves is a great job for him atm. You can see the difference he has made with the players.

In the future i think he would make a great fulltime coach. The way he analysed and played the game as a halfback just shows alot of qualtities that not many coaches would be able to bring to a football team. He was also a great captain so he knows how get respect and bring the best out of the players

  11. He would certainly be able to help with providing medication if any of the players were depressed

  12. another 1 eyed nights fan on top there!! as much as he likes to dream Johns will never coach, he will only advise as he is currently doing with a number of clubs.

as for him being a good coach thats easy;  NO!!!

he's not mentally tough, as soon as he lost a couple of games the media would come down on him like a ton of bricks, he would run to his dealer get a bag of eccys and overdose! but hey thats just the way i see it!
