Do u think horse-racing is bad?

i see horse races and i have horses myself, but do u think it is bad to race horses? i mean do u think they like it(the horses) or idk wat do u think?

i do not see anything wrong with the sport, as long as the horses are treated good and not abused when racing the sport is perfectley wonderful!

now there has come times when horses to break down in races (practically every day) and people around America's race tracks are trying to find new surfaces that would help that out.

but in some accidents like Barbaro's, maybe some people have droped out of the sport (maybe because it was such a horriable injury and he didn't survive, but tried!) maybe some people dis-liked the sport more or maybe some people just got into the sport more because this horse was un-willing to give up and it showed America how tough a race horse can really be.

but to sum up my answer i think that horse racing is a wonderful sport, rather ur in it for the betting or the horse. me myself is in it for the horses.

Being a jockey myself here in Australia,race horse's are bred to run, it's in there blood.

Plus I get a rush out of horse racing,it's a great sport.

Horses love to run, and anyone who tries to say they are forced into it has pbviosuly never sat on a horse in their life!  I've ridden for many years and one thing I've learnt is that you can never make a horse do something it doesn't want to do!

I worked at a very well known stud a few years back and their motto was "where the horses come first", and I can say that was definitely true: they had better lives than the staff that looked after them!

It isn't the racing that is bad, it's the people connected with it.  There are so many cons & criminals within the INDUSTRY of Horse Racing.  The horses are usually (not always) just seen as a commodity that is nothing more than an investment opportunity & a meal ticket.  Even a losing horse can be exploited to make to most amount of money until they break-down & even then, the insurance premium is enough to cover any losses & most owners/trainers will break even if they know how to play the con games!  I have mixed emotions about the subject because I actually lived on the backlots of race tracks in Southern California & worked as a hot walker & groom for 5 years.  The workers are treated so unfairly & unethically by the people who have the power & money on the track.  It is an industry that is still very much a part of the slave-trade mentality for humans & animals alike!  You do it for love, not money!

I happen to know a gambler and he's been punting for years with a mate of his, and now his life is a sorry mess.

I punted once, won 250, punted again, lost the lot, serves me right!

yes they like it most race horses are treated like kings they get better  treatment than a lot of kids and they like to run just like all althilets like the sport they are playing they crave the compition
