we just finished 2 a day practices and im a senior....fb is not fun at all...ive been dreading it all year and now that its here i dont enjoy one second of it. i used to love practicing let alone i LOVED playing games...but im 6'2 180 and im the lightest lineman...3 starting lineman are 300 plus pounds so obviously we need their size the other two are favored....one is a popular teachers son so of course hes gonna get to play and the other is a relative of our line coach...ive been getting favored over since i was a sophmore and im not enjoying it...i practice my balls off and never get to play...the 2 favored lineman try to p**s me off and make me feel bad that im not that good and i will admit im not the best lineman but i try rele hard....the 1st 2 games will be blowouts so ill get to play of course...but the 3rd game is gonna be a hard game and im leaning toward quitting if i dont get to play...i talked with my mom and she is pissed that im not getting to play despite leaving it all on the field...she said if i want to quit i will let you...since ive said since junior high your gonna stick out every sport wether you like it or not but she gave me the ok to quit if i want to....do u think its ok that i quit and get back to my job and save money for college and do things more important or should i just duke it out until mid october?

  1. Football is football.  It is a game not life.  If you have chosen to play team or individual sports throughout high school then you have gotten the best of what they have to offer.

    But

I will always go for staying with a commitment once made.  Is there another position to play?  Is there something you can do with more practice, Tight end, Defensive End, or Outside linebacker. Kicker? Your size is suitable for any of those.

Football season is only for a few months.  You will be working for the rest of your life.  Maybe one of those big fat fatties will get turf toe and you'll have to take over.

  2. man up you start something you finish it

  3. I think you should do whatever you desire, and not anyone else. Make sure it's what you really want. You shouldn't be in situations that make you stressed to the point where you dread them. It's not good for you or your health. What are your plans for the future? Do you plan on playing football for college, or is it just a hobby to keep you occupied? If you do plan on it, then stick it out, if not, let go and go explore on more options you have. You are young and have all your life ahead of you. Start thinkin with your heart and not your brain. Now what is it you really want. If it were up to me I'd leave if i really hated it, but if i loved it i'd stick it out and show everyone up. Now it's your turn to decide. Don't make yourself sick over it, you'll be relieved once you make that decision by yourself.

  4. What about trying another position? Being more versatile could help you in the future as well if you plan on playing in college.

  5. There is always going to be favoritism. I wanted to play Defense Lineman So badly that I worked harder then anyone on the team, and i didnt get the slot because there are returning varsity players that wanted the spot, its natural. Dont let them get you down, just work your hardest. The coaches will see that your a great player, and put you in when they see fit, but if you still feel as if there is an unfair advantage going towards the other players even though your better then them, then save up for college and go back to football when you get to college.

  6. your the perfect size for a wide receiver

  7. U no man your situation is very very tough and those to other linemen seem like jerks and u could very well quit and nobody would care but if u quit u are letting the players that think u suck or don't like u win and thats not good so u do what u think is best for u and it is ur decision.
