  1. The disable are still being discriminated against.  Funds that are for these children that are in school is not always given to them.  Monies for programs has been cut or the program itself has been dropped.  They still go through changes because they are still not totality accepted.  Some people treat them as if they are a freak of nature or because they may not think or comprehend as well as someone who does not have a disability then they can not fit into this society.  These children were integrated into classes with other children so they could learn and show that these children can be helped and not to be picked at and stared at nor to pity.  There will always be people who are ignorant and not have the sense to be kind and helpful.  Instead of thinking about how people with different disabilities feel when people use insulting words can hurt them they choose to ignore the fact that they have feelings too.  There are many ways that people can be kind or say something nice but most people just do not care to do so.  Here are some things i have said to get my point across to the person to quit making fun of them: What if it was you?  Would you like someone to treat you that way?   They are not to blame for the way they are.  This is the way God wanted them to be.  What if it was your child, sister, brother, mother or father.  Why not say something about the things they can do.  You can read about the special olymphic or watch them on television and see the amazing things they have accomplish.  I work along side with these children every day and i also work with adults who have disabilities.  Coming from a family with disabilities i can feel and relate with these children and adults.

  2. Today there are services to help them find jobs.

A friend of mine sister with Asparagus got a training ship as a chief.

I think they have it easier then when I was leaving school.

But there still is a long way to go.

  3. People with learning Disabilities/ (cognitive Disabilities) will ALWAYS experience some discrimination within Mainstream Society.

To acedoll1985: Even though you might work with PWDs and come from a family of PWDs and feel like that you can relate to PWDs, you are still NOT one of us PWDs unless you are a PWD yourself. Unless you are a PWD, you do NOT know what it actually like to personally live daily with a Disability 24-7- 365. So to a certain degree, you can not completely relate to us PWDs if you are NOT a PWD.

  4. I think you should really work on your paragraph and sentence structure. Oh and grammer too.

  5. No, I see constant improvement in how people with learning disabilities/cognitive disabilities are being treated. INclusive schools has changed the way people perceive others with disabilities. They are no longer strangers who are educated in a hall (or school) down the way, but in the same classroom. They are friends, not strangers.

  6. When I was school, I was not nutrition properly and have anxiety.

I know when I was in high school, I have short term memory problem. Everything what I study were not coming to picture when I was taking the test. The anxiety problem also attract me to food. But the food was almost barely or nothing at all dues to being broke. There were no food stamp used at the time.

The ignorant of mental and physical was also a problem.

My punishment was not increasing support in food to support my mental but in physical. In my lifetime, that physical was getting hit 40 time in behind for my bad grade. Would have been less but know because trying an idea that is not compatiable to mind and physical was a waste of time.

In spite of my past ordeal, my emotion, mental, and physical has been modify. The past anguish was a scarred but also altered my mind into a different person. Luckily it doesn't change me to a someone who is dangerous.

  7. i dont know i have not been in school in a long time. but i think the specail ed classes hold people back and do not give them a proper education for kids who want to go to college though. especailly if the kid graduates with a 3 grade education. because they were in the specail ed classes the caters to them

special ed kids  are exempt from taking the high school exit exam.

  8. I know without a doubt they do, I have a learning disabled daughter and as soon as children learned she is different, they began name calling and teasing. Her self esteem took a nose dive, This also happened to my brother in the sixties, and that is a thirty year difference.

  9. Take some heart on the fact that many other people are discriminated over one thing or another.

You have to be strong to get ahead in life. Every instance of discrimination should make you stronger.

  10. I think so, but its wrong to discriminate against other people, just for being who they are. So to fix this problem most people just need to open their hearts instead of placing themselves to high. So to get the message out you should go to a school and say what you think. Most people will listen trust me.
