  1. Sounds perfect.  My son is also 2.  He knows his colors.  He can identify letters.  He speaks in full sentences (he even uses little words in them like "the", "it", "and".  He knows his numbers.  Only difference is my son can only count to ten.  Lol...probably because I haven't worked past that number.  But your little girl sounds about right.  Some two year olds know all this but can't use full sentences yet.  Even that is considered avereage so long as they put two or three wordes together to get their point across.

  2. When it comes to children, there are no such things as average or normal.  They all develop and learn things at different rates.  So-called normal is usually a very wide range.

If you compare her to the previous poster who said her 2 year old can read and identify all kinds of cars in a parking lot, she's behind!  LOL.

My daughter is 16 months, and after reading varoius posts on here about stuff that 2 year olds can do scares me, she has lots of learning to do between now and march.  I guess I better pull out the flashcards!  tee hee.

  3. She sounds fine to me, counting to 15 is good, most 2 year olds I know can only count to 10

  4. Absoulutely perfect.  I do want to mention though that many parents mention counting and knowing abc's like that is important.  That is only testimony of a child's memory.  Learning a song would show just as much.  Identifying colors or putting together puzzles would tell you more about comprehension and problem solving, etc..She sounds great!  Good job, mommy.

  5. She is doing really well if she is doing all of those things.  Congradulations.

  6. yeah, maybe even ahead

  7. Yup, she's good. Completely average. :)

  8. She's perfect for her age :)

  9. My grandson is 21 months.  He knows his ABCs and sings half a dozen songs.  When he counts it's One Two Three Nine Ten.  He knows Blue.  He knows Tigger, Pooh, Piglet, Eyeore, Kanga, Roo, and Owl.  Oh. And Darby.  And Handy Manny and Kelly and Squeezer.  I haven't asked him about shapes yet.  Dogs, cats, and monkeys - got 'em hands down.  Bananas, you betcha.

See, similar skills as your daughter.  Not quite up to her level yet.  But I know how smart our little fella is, so my bet is that your little girl is absolutely perfect for her age.

Aren't they just incredible?  And wait until you have grandbabies!
