  1. There is always a possibility a person will get attacked by a shark in any Oceanic-exposed body of water (i.e. oceans, rivers, some lakes, etc). As humans, we are entering their element, their home. If they feel threatened, they will attack; it's in their nature to defend themselves as much as it is in ours.

Sharks are also curious by nature, so if they see a foreign body enter their habitat some will be inclined to investigate. They may just nudge, but some will bite, for, unlike humans, they do not have limbs to touch/examine their said interest, so their only means of examination is their mouth/snout.

However, don't panic. Most sharks are timid creatures and will venture off without you knowing it was even there.

It has been statistically proven that a person is more likely to be struck by lightning than bitten by a shark.

Society today has an unhealthy fear of sharks, mostly prompted by the media. Shark attacks are, in reality, few and far between, but the media magnifies any occurrence ten fold, because it is so rare. In the US alone we kill millions (1,000,000+) of sharks annually-- be it for food, trophies, accident, or hate-- but there is MAYBE only about 20 shark attacks-- a handful of which are fatal.

Yes, any time you enter the water you should be aware of the possibility of a shark in the area, but don’t let it hinder your plans. Just stay aware. If you do see a shark, calmly swim away and head for shore.

Panic is what induces most shark attacks.

    Don't be afraid, just aware.

  5. most unlikely- if there was a great white, which there isn't,dogs would be more likely targets.

  6. no as i doubt there will be anyone stupid enough to swim out there if they know that the waters may be unsafe, plus most of the sharks seen off the coast of cornwall are harmless

  7. No. Most of the shopkeepers are just fine! b'bum…b'bum…b'bum!

  8. I'm going there in 2 weeks and I am scared a little. My dad says they probably just eat plankton and it is unlikely that they would be human-eating.

  9. If they're stupid enough to swim in their territory.

  10. yeah, cause u can never under estimate a shark ... If its hungry or feels threatened it will attack u.
