  1. There is still widespread poverty in India. However, I do believe that if we examine the typical progression of other nations there are some clues to be had about India's fate and what seems like it will be a very prosperous future!

India appears to be undergoing the industrial capitalist stage of development. Capital investment and the increased production brought on by years of industrialization should lower the price of goods and services, and allow for further career specialization. This in turn should decrease poverty by providing for the delivery of new varieties of goods and services in the near future.

India's professional sector is as strong now as almost any other developing nation.

The Indian government is pressing harder and harder for child labor laws and the enforcement thereof. This will not help the economy of India, nor will it serve to reduce poverty. It does, however, raise historic parallels. Historically, a modern nation only begins to enforce such regulations at a point at which child labor is easy enough to suppress. This indicates that India has arrived at or perhaps surpassed a (relative) level of  wealth enjoyed by Western Anglo nations in the late 19th/early 20th century.

  2. Poverty is widespread in India, but due to globalization and large businesses from the U.S. & Europe outsourcing much of their operations, it is being reduced.

  3. to some extent Yes, especially in urban areas  The growth of the middle class (which was virtually non-existent when India became a free nation in August 1947) indicates that economic prosperity has indeed been very impressive in India, but the DISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH has been very uneven...but A major cause of poverty is among rural people in India becauz of lack of access for both individuals and communities to productive assets and financial resources.Microenterprise development, which could generate income and enable them to improve their living conditions, has only recently become a focus of the government.

Eradicating poverty is a long term goal!

  4. Poverty of girls has been reduced a lot. but the poverty of mens reduces much loter.
