im 13 and online it said u have to be at least 14 but i really need the money think i can still get the job im almost 14 and im very mature and good at baggingthanks

Nope, if they do they are breaking the law.  

I'm surprised there is a state that will allow anyone under 16 to be hired.

No, they can only hire you at the age that they say. It is breaking the law. Be patient and maybe find a job like cutting lawns,babysitting....some where age does not matter as much. Good luck and don't give up on Publix I hear that are wonderful to work for.

Nope, won't happen.  Publix is a large company and they play by the rules.  There are HUGE penalities for violating the FSLA Child Labor Laws - Publix is well aware of this.  You will be legal to work at 14, but because of all the restrictions on hours for 14 and 15 year olds, Publix will usually hire from 16 and up.  Sorry, I am sure you are a great bagger, but be patient and don't be in a big hurry to work - you will do it your whole adult life, enjoy being a child.

If they say you have to be 14, and you aren't, then no, I don't think they'll hire you. "Almost" doesn't count.   Sorry.
