Do u think schools should be integrated?

tell me three resons as to why u believe this way.

I think they should be, but if you are at a smaller school, like me, you may not have the best program for all children. I teach one child that is not receiving his best placement, the main reason being that schools are integrated. So, while I believe in integration, I also see the benefit of 'special' schools.

Schools should be a reflection of society and we live in a country of diversity. It makes common sense to have integrated schools. A better question might be to give 3 well-founded and non-bigoted reasons why a person would think they should NOT be. I would like to see someone come up with those.

Since you posted this in the special education section, which deals with educating those with cognitive difficulties, I at first thought you were referring to integrating special needs students into regular classrooms!  Silly me!  So you must be referring to racial integration.

1.  US schools are already integrated.

2. Life is integrated so learn to deal with it.

3.  We live in what is supposed to be an equal opportunity society so lets try to give that equality to everyone, regardless of race, creed or cognitive level of development.

I don't belive that schools should force integration - that is, bussing kids from one area to another.  However, any student should be allowed to attend any public school he wishes (or his parents wish).

Integration;   a funny word isn't it?   My reasons for believing in integration are: I was in secondary school when schools in my part of this country were integrated.  People from various backgrounds and groups all have something good to contribute to life,  and wouldn't it be a boring place here on earth if everyone were the same?  Hope this helps you.
