Do u think that Russia and the United States will have a war against each other?

The reasons i asked that question, because of Russian and Georgian are fighting right now, so i wonder if the United States will protects its ally Georgia from Russian aggression, please tell me what your opinion are...if United States do get involves, i think that it might be a start of war world 3, maybe a nuclear war, and what do u think?

i really hope we dont have a war cuz im going to join the Marines and be a sniper. if we do then i might not join. i have a while until i will join im going to college first so in 7 years be a marine. hopefully this will end soon

It is extremely unlikely that we will go to war with Russia over Georgia and South Ossetia. We will urge peace, and perhaps urge for sanctions against Russia, etc.

If, by some tiny chance we were to become engaged in a full scale war with Russia, the idea of the US military being overstretched would become obsolete. An entirely new configuration of the military would be launched, probably including a draft. The selective service estimates that it could have the first round of draftees in basic training in about 90 days from instituting a draft. And you must remember (I know this for a fact) that American equipment and weaponry is VASTLY superior to anything Russian. They might have test items of certain tanks, missiles that are superior to us but nothing that they could mass produce. This means that we would need far less people in our military to counter them.

Our military might be stretched a little thin right now, but make no mistake, we could still bring the Russians to their knees if we had to.

Not Russians (we) are so stupid to start world conflict, not You (Americans). This conflict will led only to civilization's end.

Open conflict between present strongest in military potential countries will burn entire Earth - because no one will win by conventional means - a nuclear weapon will be launched. After this - goodbyu life on Earth.

bad_mojo...  - Vastly superior? You dreaming, wake up! Many new Russian weapons has unique specifications unaccesible to yours - from aircraft to nuclear missles.

You will be surprised when american "stealth" aircraft will be shot down one by one. Russia is not Serbia and Iraq - its second world strongest army. On our territory you will lose.

I highly doubt it.  Both countries do not want a nuclear war.  It serves no ones best interest.  I think the U.S. will only go so far as only to urge peace making, but will not get involved.  Even for the neo-cons, there is no oil to steal as we cannot oust the leaders of these nations or place Haliburton anywhere for them to make money.
