Oh such confusion in the world today. What is your definition of a primate? No man didn't come from monkey. Primate although people think it is monkey is silly and wrong. I guess because they relate with the evolutionary chart which kind of suggest it. No humans are humans from beginning to end but yes we have evolved in forms of advancement. You see man was young in the world and as time went on he improved to adapt to what we have now. here is an example. look at what life was 100 years ago. compare it to life today - can you see change? We were always human now we are more advanced humans.

Humans ARE primates, they are one of the four species of great apes.  Human ancestors are also primates, so yes we evolved from them as well.  So we were and continue to be primates.

Yes, we evolved from a primate that is an ancestor to other primates alive today.  Did you really just get two people to ask "if we evolved from primates, why are there still primates?"  That is a question of an ignorant person, since we didn't evolve from modern primates, we share a common ancestor.  Even a 5th grader should know that.

I agree somewhere down the line our our species branched off and thus humans,primates,ect. came about. We shared an ancestor somewhere down the line. As for evolution it's happening all around us as we speak,gradually but surely. Yes we might not notice it within say 100 years but we will someday, just as we look back now on the past. For the bible (bang humans are here so deal with it) in the book it states eve was made from the rib of adam, being the sole creaters of the human race they spawned two sons which was said when older  traveled to other villages to get wifes to start families. Hmmmmm contradicting isn't it.

I think so. There are still primates because they lived in different parts of the world and there are many different kinds. Just because some evolved doesn't mean they all have to.

Humans are primates.  There is only about a 2% DNA difference between humans and chimpanzees.  Our ancestors branched away from Old World ape millions of years ago.  There are similarities between humans and other primates including: dexterity, color vision forward vision, large brain size, brow ridge, social organization, etc. From our ancestors we have evolved further away from Old World apes through adaptation and changing environment.  True, there are differences between humans and other primates such as bipedalism, linguistic ability, etc., but we are still primates.

Yes, I think we did! Basically, 6-4 million years ago the earliest human ancestors diverged from a common ancestor we share with apes. From there many different species evolved over time, and eventually they all died out except for Homo Sapiens (which is us!)

I do not believe that we evolved from primates for 2 different reasons: 1. If we evolved from primates why are primates not still evolving? My grandmother is 77 and has never seen a monkey turn into a human. :) 2. In the Bible it is very clear where we came from. Try reading Genesis and maybe you'll get a little insight into how we came to be.

Latest studies suggest that the human DNA and the chimpanzee DNA are more than 95% identical. The anti-evolution people would disregard this as a proof that humans are related with other primates, but, in the same time, they would accept a DNA test in a court.

So it is obvious (at least for me) that we have something in common with the monkeys, but who evolved from who, well, that's another question...

Species will form different species when one of the populations gets separated by a natural boundary.  These different species might then evolve into different niches that favor different structures or modifications.  After a few thousand to millions of generations, they may be completely different, i.e something evolved into a chimp and a human.  It is a common argument against evolution but for those of us that understand, the concept is not all that complicated and it obviously occurs.
