  1. Your question and the first answer just made my day!

It was a good move, because they only traded his rights for like two days, and Rolston probably won't resign with Minnesota anyways

  2. You don't know. With what they would pay to keep him, I am guessing they are going to go after a big FA.

As much as Rolston has been a good player for them he has not done what they really need and that is create some distraction so that the other team doesnt take the successful-sofar approach of shutting down Gaborik and you shut down the wild.

They need someone who can take the focus off Gaborik and i am guessing they are gonna make a splash next week.

  3. NO its not stupid because TOMORROW he will become an unrestricted free agent and the Wild dont wont to give him up for just nothing.

  4. Stupid for not trading him on trade day....But otherwise they played the situation correctly.

  5. the best player in nhl 08 is Sidney Crosby or alex ovechkin,

And yes, the Wilds are stupid

  6. They were not going to have him signed by July 1, after which he was to become an unrestricted free agent. So they traded him and got SOMETHING. Their other option was getting NOTHING. That's a smart move. And they can STILL negotiate with him more starting tomorrow. That's a brilliant move.

  7. Rolston was getting old and minnesota couldn't afford to keep anyways

  8. The Wild are trading him because he doesn't want to play for them anymore.

  9. Trading him for a conditional draft pick would be much better than losing him to free agency.  Anyways, nobody would give the wild more for him because there's no guarantee he would sign with the team that acquired him.

  10. NO. Rolston wasn't going to resign there. They wanted to get something out of him. Actually......it was REAL smart to do. Why just let him walk away July 1st and get nothing out of it when you can trade him now and get a pick?

  11. yeah that's stupid.  I'm canceling my season tickets right now.

  12. Rolston told the team he wasn;t coming back, and after 2 months of trying to convince him to stay, Risebrough finally gave up.  The sad thing is Risebrough had better offers at the draft was convinced he could still get Rolston to sign.

    This way, he got something.
