NO. terrorists do not operate in such a way that legislation can stop or even slow them down. if they're like the u.s. all they will end up doing is taking liberty away from the average indian.

Laws should NOT be inhuman, extremistic, draconian & dictatorial like Rowlett Act. Honest & efficient enforcement of present laws are sufficient. If law is such that it can harass innocents, it is useless as it can be arbitrarily used against anyone.

Only spiritual awakening can prevent terrorism in India. I can't say the same thing about other countries. Being an Indian, and being in India, the yard sticks are different.

It is not the laws that matter but the will to enforce them strictly.In any case with the convoluted justice system in India nothing will work.Starting from the magistrate's

court,the case moves to the Sessions Court and then the High Court.Here it has to move through various benches(from one man to full Bench)after which comes the Supreme Court which in the first instance would

transfer it back to one of the lower courts.Which one is anybody's guess.Repeating the earlier process,when it

finally lands back in the SC the whole rigmarole of the

benches and chairs and sofas etc.will have to be gone through.Even if finally the accused is awarded the

ultimate punishment of death,a new circle will have to be gone through,this time with the Government and the President roped in.Now comes the crunch.No one wants to give the final orders to carry out the sentence.

The file gets shoved into a deep corner from where extraction becomes difficult.By then the convicted

terrorist would have met his maker in the normal course.

End of story.Anti-terrorism laws?Doesn't even the thought make you laugh?

New terrorists will take over from where the late earlier(nice oxymoron) guy left unfinished

and will go on undeterred.

Yes, they would help but the laws are mend to be broken. First of all the citizens of the country should realize that they have some responsibilities and then only the Laws can be used in the right way. The citizens should take participation in anti terrorist activities . They should have a close eye on the things happening around them , this would help us to identify the miscreants and to avoid any mis happenings.

I believe that if we all put our efforts to eradicate terrorism i am sure that we can have a safe and secure country !
