  1. I'm an Agnostic but I believe that it has basis in fact. The miracles could have happened. If you believe that God exists then why couldn't it be real, right?

  2. That depends on what do you mean by made up

do you mean like some rambome guys decided to wright stuff in a book and bullshit

    or

like some guys were inspired by god and wrote it?

I go with the bible and god part

its my religion and i relay do belive on it

  3. It's a real book, but it is not the bestseller people say it is, never has been. It's just a popular BS statistic.

But the stories in it? Yeah, it's fiction. And pretty horrible, definitely not suitable for children or those of a sensitive dispostion.

  4. There have been many theologians and historians who have read it very carefully and noted things similar to what you just did (almost too detailed to be made up). While many would disagree just because they're personally against what the Bible says, the bulk of historians who have studied it believe there is some truth to it. Ie, that Jesus walked the earth at some point, that the Jews were enslaved by all those different nations, etc.

At this point I also want to throw in that Jesus' existance on this earth is actually better documented and supported than the existance of Julius Caeser... but that's beside the point.

There is documentation of many of the people in the Bible, outside the Bible itself. Various scribes and historians back then wrote of various things about the apostles, Jesus, Paul, etc. Coins with inscriptions about King David and his mighty men have been found. Things like that...

I personally do not believe it was made up, but for many more reasons than being detailed.

  5. No it wasn't made up. The Bible is the inspired word of God. People have been studying it for thousands of years, I suggest that we all should study it in detail.

"The Bible---it contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you. It is the traveler's map, the pilgrim's staff, the pilot's compass, the soldier's sword, and the Christian's charter. Here paradise is restored, heaven opened, and the gates of h**l disclosed. Christ is its grand subject, our good the design, and the glory of God its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart, and guide the feet. Read it slowly, frequently, and prayerfully. It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, and a river of pleasure. It is given you in life, will be opened at the judgement, and be remembered forever. . ."

The quote has been going around in emails, I can't give you the exact source.

  6. No, it is God's Word. There are more bibles in print than all other books.  There are more hyms of praise about Jesus than all other people. If you get saved, a transformation will happen in your life. You will want to serve Him. You will then know for sure that God's Word is true from cover to cover.

  7. yeah. I know some people may take this offencive but this is my opinion. I think the bible was made up like a book of rules. All religions are just a big book of rules in disguise as the word "sins". sorry if I offended anyone.

  8. I think that many of the stories in the Old Testament are made up:

    - the creation story

    - Job (where God apparently killed Job's family to win a bet   with the devil)

    - Noah and the flood (no evidence of this ever happening)

The gospels were written about between 30 - 60 years after Jesus's death, so a lot of the stories are embellishments on half remembered events.
