  1. Yes we will evolve further.

    We have no other choice.

It is our brain that makes us human,

and its further expansive use will evolve.

  2. May be but not in quantity.

  3. Yeah.

    Evolution is unavoidable.

Acording to (insert name here)'s law * I forgot who * evolution and techonlogical advances double every generation.

It's almost a sure thing that our most valuable resource will run out by 2100.....water.

    D:

  4. Yeah, but good for them.  I can't wait until 2012 when the dimensional axis will shift and I can show my true form around on Earth.  I'm tired of having to drink blood on every full moon to keep my illusionary capacity in check.  I'm a lizard damnit!

  5. Evolution simply means adaptation in response to the environment, not progress in any particular direction, so we can't help but evolve.

If you mean are we improving, then what is the standard by which we measure improvement? I think things are getting better and worse all the time, depending on what particular qualities you are talking about.

Maybe it all evens out in the end. As a species, we are clearly not even toilet-trained yet, so maybe it's a huge victory that we have enough intelligence to even ask the question. On the other hand, we have gore-tex and can grow our on food, yet people continue to eat and wear their neighbors (i.e. everyone else on the planet) and delude themselves that they are better than other animals, so it's a tough call.

We'll have to wait and see what the aliens think, if they ever even consider us worth communicating with, which is doubtful.

  6. That's an ironic question.

According to evolution, those with the better genes will live on, and those with inferior genes will perish.

    That's racism at it's finest.

So, are you asking if we're going to evolve beyond evolution?

  7. Those characteristics really don't have anything to do with how we are genetically.  Our attitudes can certainly evolve.  Unfortunately it usually takes disaster or impending doom to motivate us to work together.  When it comes to race relations and environmental awareness we have come a long way as a species in the last 40 years.

  8. No, we keep the non productive members of society in it and usually allow them to breed.  Otherwise no one would have mullets.

  9. I can see from many of the answers that the idea of social evolution or social Darwinism is not something they teach over in the physical sciences section. It seems from my reading and understanding of your question you are asking if the human race is evolving (perhaps even becoming progressive) in our social thinking.

I would say yes overall but it is certainly slower in some segments of the human race than others.

For instance we have for the first time a serious candidate for U.S. President that is partially African-American (black). This would not have been possible in the 1950's. I'm quite sure there are some people that will still vote on this issues alone hoping that candidate is all it ever becomes.

Next, we have a person that won a Nobel for Global Warming that is an environmentally conscious world that did not exist before. Despite the people that say it does not exist (like the Nobel Prize would be awarded for bad science) even Republicans acknowledge (for the first time) that making our water and air as clean as possible couldn't hurt anything.

So, yes there is progress and I think it's OK to dare to hope.

There will always be jealously and prejudice in some forms I suspect but overall there has been progress.

  10. no we do not evolve in one step like in Pokemon or x-men, evolution is a continuing process like landscapes being formed.

we are evolving right now.it is a slow process...

  11. Yes we have evolved and will continue to do so.  Even if we as humans have to mess with genetics to do so.  This week they found stem cells which cause serious childhood disease.  I think that the medical practitioners will start removing those stem cells soon enough, causing a small evolutionary jump.

This is why I am not for cloning, because it implies standing still.  You are simply Xeroxing a form of life, it does not have the opportunity to naturaly try something new by way of evolution.

  12. PFFFFF no. Never. We are human.

  13. social justice? nah.

  14. Yes, it is revolving backwards. The average skull size in the last forty years has shrank.

  15. Sure we are evolving socially.

Physically, I doubt it. Evolution occurs when there is a change in enviroment and a species need to change or they will die. Sometimes that species dies, sometimes they change.

Humans have gotten to a point where we fit perfectly in our enviroment. There are no evolutionary developments that would increase our chance of survival and therefore it is not likely that evolution will occur in humans until drastic changes occur in our world which threaten us.

  16. Ever? Nope.    We would all be robot-like  if we didn't have those things.

  17. You asked two completely different questions (I'm sure it's not for a homework assignment, because, obviously, your teacher would never have made so many spelling mistakes!).   ;)

The answer to the first one is "yes, the human race is constantly evolving," at least from a physiological standpoint.  In less than a century, we have defeated many diseases, and are far healthier and more knowledgeable than our ancestors (well, some of us, anyway!).  ;) It will be long after we have passed away that the extent of that growth will be known, similar to that of cro-magnon man vs modern man.

As for your second question, unfortunately, that is far more complicated to answer. The optimistic among us would say that, at least on a global scale, we are becoming more aware of others and our planet, and, at some point, we'll overcome our prejudices, selfishness, gluttony, and political rhetoric. On the other hand, nobody would ever accuse me of being an optimist!  ;)

  18. actually... it reallly does seem like we are not.. more war.. more racism.. more of destroying the planet.. but based on what i have read, humans are going to start spiritually evolving within this century.. they will star to be more into the spiritual field and generally, better ppl,

  19. I think the human race is devolving. The End.

  20. no,the world will explode before that happens.

  21. Yes we are evolving but no we will never be racism free... there's a lot of that stuff that's part of human nature, it's a result of what we are.

  22. No, I think it peaked and is now on a downward spiral.

  23. We are.  However, what we are becoming may not be the ideals you are describing.

  24. i don't believe in physical evolution. its our thinking and grasp of technology that evolves. we can be racism free by being race free thru everyone breeding with others races until we all look alike! politically, we are too corrupt morally to be responsible. and the environment will continue to be depleted til we have so little air, plants, and water that we die out and the few remaining wildlife with thrive and the planet will be reborn. (unless Jesus comes back soon)

  25. No. What there evolving into are fat, lazy, inconsiderate, stupid, and worthless.

  26. nah never people gonna have

    those g*y attributes u mention,

only wossys are born with those

people wil evolve to symbiosis with machines, and   biologic immortality all will be achieved this century

    and u

hey go save some stupid frog in woods or something or some bug  from extinction dotn   waste ur time here in yahoo

    :)
