No! and oh how I wish there were so many more! I try to convince my boyfriend to join the ballet world, but I haven't been able to recruit any males :( unfortunately

Male ballet dancers are the lost species honestly - so many people (as shown above) think that just cause a guy does ballet he's g*y, which is SO untrue.

Of course you'd have g**s in every aspect but what i mean is not only g*y guys do ballet -  straight guys do too and I find that very appealing.

Is there anything weird about Baryshnikov, or Gene Kelly, or Patrick Swayze, or Fred Astaire and so on....

I dont think there is anything weird about male ballet dancer..that may be because im a ballet dancer. But wow i think they are just as important to a ballet as female dancers. I think they are really skilled and nothing weird about them at all. and id like to add you dont have to be g*y to do ballet...and you shouldnt leave ballet to the females because ballets need males for lifts and for all the stuff that they do, that females dont, and of course for the male parts, and well cuz male dancers are soo talenteddd.  I think people need to stop being ignorant and accept males as ballet dancers, wether they are g*y or straight and i really have no respect for people who stereotype or hate on people because they dont do things like basketball or football instead they dance and it takes just as much strength and athletic ability as any other sport. haha wow okay im kinda just sick of people calling ballet girly

Us ballerinas need more male ballet dancers. I just find it stupid that people think htey are g*y. Those who say so are the g*y ones! They don't have idea, of how strong and physically fit a male ballet dancer must be. They are more fit than any other guy who does any sport. I just hate that discrimination. People think they are all g*y. And because of this, we have a very little amount of male dancers. And that sucks!

So, if you want to be a ballet dancer, GO ON AND DO WHATEVER YOU WANT. DON'T LISTEN TO OTHER GUYS WHO SAYS ITS g*y OR WEIRD. JUST DO WHATEVER YOU FEEL LIKE! ;)

i think it's cool because i mean if you love to dance..like i do..it would suck to be made fun of for doing something you love. and it's not fair that people scrutinize them. they love to dance and are just as great and good as female ballerinas.
