Do u think thirteen year old teens can whatch little children ? whats the best thing to start off babysitting?

i was hoping to start a babysitting an im thirteen soo thats why i asked . i have responsibility and i watch my sisters with my brother so i have exspirence but i havent found someone that needs babysitting.

you can babysit. but i would start with kids that are about 5 or older. take a course in infant/child care, get CPR and first aid certified then babysit for the younger kids.

I babysat when i was thirteen, but it was mostly for family. It depends on if you can find someone who can trust you.. you are young and there are plenty of people who can find older people to watch their children. also it depends on your knowledge and maturity level.

If you enjoy children and understand that you are responsible to nurture them , protect them and keep them clean and safe, there is no reason why a mature 13 year old young woman shouldn't be able to babysit.  

I would suggest taking a 'Safe Sitter" course at your local YMCA or local hospital so that you can learn basics about child growth and development, and such things basic first aid, how to bathe a child and change his diapers.

I starting babysitting as a 'mothers helper' for my neighbor when I was 12 years old.   I  love children and have strong maternal instincts came naturally to me.   My neighbor had three sons aged 2, 5 and 7.  All 3 of the boys were bed wetters and needed to be diapered for bed.   The 2 year old and the 5 year old were slow to potty train who needed daytime diapers.

By the time I turned 13, the boys mother felt comfortable enough to babysit the children alone on saturday evenings with me to bathe them and get them into their diapers and pj's for bed.    

I was considered to be mature for my age and I looked older than I was  and boys thought of me as their Aunt.   I was proud to have such an important job and the boys still call me Aunty when they see me !

Babysitting is a serious responsibility.  At 13 years old, you still will need the help of adults so be sure to know where the childs mother is and be sure that your mother is available to help you if the need arises.
