  1. No, but I shower with my boyfriend to save water.

  2. Sorry.  I live in a rain forest.  My problem is getting rid of water.  I try to limit the water I use but except maybe using shower water to flush the toilet I don't know what I could do.  I don't have a car to wash or a lawn to water.

  3. Um, well first of all that is gross.  And I agree with answerer #1, i take showers with my fiance to save water.

    ok...

    1) don't let the tap water drip

    2) how are people supposed to get clean if they bathe in their own dirt, plus, the water would be too cold.?

    3) same thing, how are dishes supposed to get clean if they are getting washed in cold, dirty water?

    4) Can't save 'clothes water'...the washing machine sucks it all bye bye.

    5) And how is someone supposed to save shower water?  Put the plug in and let it fill up...might as well take a bath...and bathe in your own dirt once again.

Not trying to be a b-tch, but it is impossible to save every little but of water.  AND ITS NOT WASTING IF YOU USE IT.

It would only be wasting if (for example) you fill up the bath tub and end up not taking a bath so you pull the plug and drain it.

  4. you have to be very careful when using greywater. You should only use this underground and avoid contact with the air. There is bacteria from your body that will grow if exposed.

    You should never broadcast(sprinkler) greywater.

greywater systems are very similar to septic drainfields, the water flows to a basin in which the heavy particles, food material settle out, the pipe then are perforated and must be at least 4 inches underground

this is especially true if you are watering vegetables or something else to eat

the bacteria will grow and potentially create a dangerous condition

  5. yes it should be seperate from the sewage water ,

so that the black water does not get so much

and you can lead the grey water straight into the garden to the trees or plants ,

it it is very dirty run it through a french drain ,that is a closed gutter filled with rocks this filters it enough to be very good for direct irregation .

the system in the house will be much less and so cheaper because you can go straight out of the walls where ever it is situated

if water is very scarce you can even lead the sink water into the toilet tank so that you use it twice

first to brush your teeth ,shave and then to flush the bowel (toilet)

the toilet water should also go into the garden but into a cistern ,which is two compartments (about 2 cubic meters each)of brick connected with a low opening between the two

the sewage goes into the  tank and the excrement floats so is kept in the first tank ,to be handled biologically by decomposition,

the excess water flows through the low connection ,into the second tank (this one can have 3 walls of brick placed  with gaps ,so that the water already seeps into the sides ) and this tank has a high overflow also into a french drain

and the garden handles all your waste water with out you having to be connected to the municipal draining system

  6. i do i have used the water from the washing machine to fill the toilet cistern to flush it when i turned off the water k**b on the toilet.  I turned off the k**b because it kept running and wasting water.

some people appear to know very little about how these appliances work!  There should be a hose coming off the washing machine which shoots out the water from the wash and rinse cycles into a basin usually / a hole next to the basin.

It is a waste to live a lifestyle where we don't make the most of things.  Yes you got one use out of something, but you could have used things in so many more ways.  Use your imagination, it will improve your time spent with your men too, imagination is great for having fun.  Use it when ever you can.

i used the grey water from the washing machine and the bath tub to water the garden.

i collected tap water that was dripping and used it for a bath before the tap got fixed.

It isn't gross to reuse things.  Things people use are not so sterile as they think they are.  Using bath water to clean clothes is ok if you were quite clean already.  The salts from your sweaty body might help lift stains out of your clothes, if your clothes were already going to mix dirt into the water, then how is it much dirtier to mix in bath water from a non contaminated human being free from stds.
