Do u usually have to pay to reserve a table in a club?

i told my friend that i wanted to do a bd at a club and said he was gonna take care of it and then a bit latter told me it was all taken care of but didnt tell me i had to pay anything(cause u would think the club would make its money from the drinks u order)

Usually the way it works is that you have to pay for a bottle of liquor and the mixers. If you have more than 4 people or so, you often have to buy multiple bottles to get a table. Trust me, there is a huge mark-up for the bottles too. A bottle of Grey Goose can be like $200 or more.
