I am a nurse so I concentrate more on not catching any germs or spreading germs, What do you prefer to save water or to have clean hands?

  1. I want clean hands so I don't catch a cold or flu. I will use as much water and soap as it takes. I will conserve water in other ways such as not doing laundry all the time and not washing my hair all the time.

  2. well most water is recycled so it not a big deal and bacteria isnt all bad so it neither but mainly my hands

  3. I worry about the 0.1% of the germs that aren't killed.   Kill off the other 99.9%, and the .1% has no competition  so it can breed profusely and is resistant to whatever you are using.    Wash your hands to get the crud off, but most germs aren't bad for you.

  4. Using too much antibacterial soap or other products actually weakens your immune system and can promote more resistant bacteria. By being constantly exposed to low levels of bacteria your immune system will develop more antibodies and be better prepared when you come across a pathogen. Also when using antibacterial products they leave the few that are resistant to antibodies and these resistant individuals will reproduce and a larger proportion of the population will be this stronger strain.

So just wash your hands normally with regular soap.

  5. while i wash my hands on a regular basis, i am not really worried about germ free hands, because i know that it isnt possible, and i dont worry about wasting water either. i use what needs to be use dto get my hands clean enough. as a medical professional you have a different level of responsibility since you have to deal with patients that are already ill, and have compromised immune systems.

  6. Nurses must wash w/soap and water. But they have hand sanitizers all over the hospital.

  7. water...but i dont use hand sanitizer because once you are done using it where does the bottle go? forever in a landfill.

  8. Water doesn't really go anywhere.  So you can't really waste it.

  9. Depends on the setting now doesn't it? You're a nurse. You're around sick people and your goal is to make them less sick. So by all means, wash the h**l out of your hands. :)

However, the average person just bumming around their apartment eating tortilla chips and watching cartoons (me this afternoon, heh) really doesn't need to worry about having hands that are clean enough for surgery.

Conservation of resources is about using them wisely and in appropriate ways.

  10. I worry about the germs, but I like normal soap, not the one that kills 99.9% of germs. Cuz I heard it kills good germs too.

    :-)

  11. i use hand sanitizer, i save water and have 99.9% germ free hands

  12. use hand sanitizer...but not too much or you could get really really sick

  13. water i am wasting. Germs I can deal with in other ways, like simply not touching THAT doorknob, etc. There's not really much way to avoid wasting water whilst washing your hands :)

  14. Just use Germ-X or something along those lines. That way you save water and kill the germs on your hands.

  15. I worry about the germs.  Water is the MOST abundant element on the planet, so we ARE NOT GOING TO BE WITHOUT any time soon.  We should use it for fuel (hydrogen and oxygen in it) instead of oil.  Good luck.
