Do uk police stations store guns and ammo?

Wasn't sure if they were kept at police stations, or in separate areas. I'm guessing there might be some security issues around asking this question!

  1. Perhaps some but I can't imagine them keeping it all there. I assume theres seperate room for that stuff.

It'd be abit dangerous leaving it all in a Police station in my opinion.

I have searched on google but couldn't find anything..

  2. Are you talking about privately owned guns or the few guns that the police force uses?  People can keep their shotguns and rifles at home but I don't think the police get to take their MP5s home with them.

  3. I would imagine so

  4. More local station has its own armoury and pistol/rifle range indoors.

  5. Does it matter?

The whole country seems ready to drop their bowels at the site of a knife now.

  6. If the guns are evidence in a crime, they'd go in an evidence room or warehouse. If the guns are official use, they probably have like an arms room where all that stuff is kept under lock and key.

  7. Most forces have a separate armoury rather than storing at a police station. Depending on the size of the force and area covered, there may be a few satelite armouries, but in general, no, police stations do not store weapons.
